ljdryden_mitchell@hotmail.com BioWelcome to my home on the web. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Dryden Mitchell, the lead singer of Alien Ant Farm.
The band has been together since 1996 melding our own brand of rock and roll, which I like to think defies categorization. We owe a lot of our success to our buddies Papa Roach. Before either of our bands broke, we befriended and supported each other, hooking up each other with shows in California. Obviously, Papa Roach took off before we did and after not getting any bites from any major record labels, the Roach signed us to their New Noise label (a subsidiary of DreamWorks) and the rest, as they say, is history.
I'm know as being somewhat soft spoken, but have a zany side which is evident in our music videos and live performances. A lot of what we do is tongue-in-cheek and we try to not take ourselves too seriously. The one thing we do, however, take seriously is our music.
May 22, 2002 was probably the most frightening day of my life. The band was involved in a bus accident near Navalmoral de la Mata, Spain en route to a show in Lisbon. Everyone in the band was injured, myself probably the worse sustaining a fracture to my C2 vertebra. The entire band is thankful that we came through this together and that none of our injuries were life threatening. Despite having to cancel some tour dates and now enduring physical therapy, my outlook is good. It's made me more thankful for the good things in life and I take nothing for granted.
